- Many butadiene plants have been restarted in China- Asia butadiene–naphtha spread
breakeven

Asian butadiene was stable since the
previous session on Aug. 15. However, market sentiment was bearish because of
improved supplies after the restarting of many butadiene factories in China. China's domestic butadiene price was stable at
Yuan 8,000-8,500/mt or $1,029-1,050/mt if you consider import parity on Aug. 15. Sources
indicated that Asia's butadiene supply would be sufficient as significant
selling interest from China would put pressure on the market throughout the
week. Asia's butadiene/naphtha spread was at $289.25-310.50/mt on Aug. 12, the narrowest in five months. The spread
fell from $26.75-32.50/mt (316/mt Aug. 15) to $26.75/mt (316/mt Aug. 15). The spread
is now just below the $300-$350/mt threshold.
