In spite of thin trading, Asian butadiene
was stable on Sept. 6. According
to trading sources, Malaysia issued a sell tender in September for two spot
cargoes, totaling 4,000 mt. For a
Malaysian spot cargo, the last deal was made in China at low-$800-820s/mt CFR
China. After a bull run the week before,
the Chinese domestic market was steady. According to market sources, China's
Sinopec kept its local price at Yuan 9,300-10,000/mt or $1,167-1,200/mt based
on import parity. Spot price discussions
were limited on a CFR China basis. The CFR
China price was higher than the Chinese domestic butadiene. The Chinese domestic butadiene cost was Yuan 9,600-10,000/mt
or $1,205-1,240/mt if you consider import parity. Sources in the market were monitoring whether China's
butadiene markets would continue...
