strengthening demand and poor market supply



The prices of vinyl
acetate monomer and spot acetic acid on the US Gulf Coast increased over the
week ending April 21. Based on speculation of higher
prices, acetic acid was valued at $1,500-1,520/mt. This is $50-55/mt more than
the previous week. Vinyl acetate monomer
was also assessed at $2,700-2,730/mt and $50-55/mt more on the week. One source stated that acetic acid demand is increasing as
construction season approaches. According
to a letter sent by Commodity Insights on April 19, LyondellBasell declared a
