process in China keep the supply tight- Continued difficulties with recovery due to COVID-19 issues

Asian Butadiene prices rose in the week
ended Jan. 6, due to tight supply. Buyers also cited concerns about the erosion
of margins on key derivatives like ABS, SBR, and BR. Buyers don't necessarily
need to purchase cargo despite having lower inventories because the operating
rates at SBR/BR facilities and BR aren't high. We only see buying from buyers who needed cargoes for this
week because their inventory levels were low. A Northeast Asian producer said that the market will not
recover fully if there are logistical and manpower issues. Tight supply is not
enough to boost butadiene sales.
