The Asian benzene market continued to be
affected by a weak supply-demand balance on Sept. 29, causing participants to
stay put and wait for more direction. On Sept. 29, benzene prices rose in response to an increase
in oil production and east China. FOB
Korea benzene physical rose $13-18/mt to $885.33-900.50/mt on September 29. Yuan 90-100/mt (or about $11.05/mt) rose to Yuan 7659-8000/mt
or $938.96-950.50/mt if the import-parity basis. The CFR China cash differentials for November arrival were
offered at plus $28-33/mt in comparison to the September Mean of Korea base
price Sept. 29, and plus $40-45/mt Sept. 28, respectively. The CFR China benzene marker was $5-6/mt higher at $915-930/mt on September 29. According to a source,
