In the week ended Nov. 9, Asian
polyethylene Terephthalate markets saw a slowdown in demand. According to a Chinese
producer, while week-on-week PET chip sales continued to decline, operating
margins remained stable and supported current operating rates of 90%-100%. Operating rates could be reduced if PET demand continues to
decline, despite a weak forecast for December and January. A producer from Southeast Asia said that buyers were not
buying PET because of falling prices. This was despite uncertainty downstream. The producer stated that Q4 demand is typically weak and prices
are falling each week. This makes it difficult for buyers to buy what they
need. The slowdown in China's finished
goods facilities and logistic issues...
