Lotte Chemical to operate Daesan cracker at reduced rates

Lotte Chemical is likely to operate its cracker at lower capacity levels. A source in South Korea informed a team member, “The cracker is planned to be operated at reduced production capacity throughout February 2026. The reason behind the lower runs could not be ascertained.” Located in Daesan, South Korea, the cracker has an ethylene production capacity of 1.1 million mt/year and propylene production capacity of 540,000 mt/year.
