Logistics logjams continue to stymie
exports March North American PVC production 34%

Spot export
polyvinylchloride prices in the USA were down $10-15/mt during the week of April 20.
This is due to lower-value deals. The prices were set at
$1,740-$1,750/mt FAS Houston. The
assessment includes deals at $1,720-1,755/mt FAS, plus an additional $20-30/mt
to cover increased costs for drayage trucking, storage, and other logistics
issues that have impeded export flows. Additional
freight, insurance, and margin costs are not included in the assessed range. According to market sources, there was no improvement in
logistical logjams. These include full or
near full packaging warehouses, a shortage of chassis and difficulties securing
