Local supply seen set to tighten in China China's benzene imports rise 39.9% in March



Asian paraxylene reversed gains made in the early weeks of April 18 and
ended the trade session lower at $16-20/mt and $8-10/mt, respectively, at $1,190-1,210/mt
CFR Taiwan/China, and $1,170-1,190/mt FOB Korea on April 22. During the Market on Close process April 22, Yisheng
purchased an Asia-origin June cargo from GS Caltex for $1,195-1,215/mt, and
Mercuria Singapore bought an Asia-origin Jul cargo from GS Caltex for $1,185-1,200/mt. After these trades, BP Singapore reduced the offer for
Asia's June arrival to $1,195-1,225/mt. Bids were mostly withdrawn due to
falling crude oil prices, weaker sentiment and a Glencore Singapore bid at
$1,195-1,225/mt. On the back of the falling
naphtha spot price, the weekly average spread between naphtha and paraxylene
