slightly in the week to Jan. 18, as inventories were reported to be low in the
region, sources said. Some traders are expecting more restocking in the
polyethylene markets in the coming weeks given some upcoming shutdowns in the
region. In plant news, Kuwait’s Equate Petrochemical Company will conduct a
turnaround at its polyethylene units at Shuaiba starting Jan. 20 for a month, a
source close to the company said. The company has a 425,000 mt/year linear low
density polyethylene plant and a 525,000 mt/year high density polyethylene
