Asia LLDPE: Fallen on weak demand■ Prices lowest since September 2020■ Singapore CP Chem starts PESources said that Asian linear low-density
polyethylene was less valued in the week ending Aug. 31, due to a historically
weak demand season. Due
to low demand and high crude costs, PE prices are at their lowest level since
September 2020. ICE October Brent crude oil futures were down $7.13/b at 4:30 pm Singapore time (0830 GMT). Sources said
that markets might be slightly bullish due to increased supply from steam
cracker operating rates being cut in September. However, this increase would be
limited by weak derivative demand. Many
naphtha-fed steam crackers in Asia were under pressure from high prices and
