Asian linear low-density polyethylene prices rose in week ending February 8. The April ICE Brent crude
oils futures contract rose $1.31/b on the day to $84.01/b at 4:30 PM Singapore
time (0830 GMT) February 8. Sources said
that although shipping costs are no longer prohibitive for trade due to lower
freight rates, there has been a low demand. Equate Petrochemical Company in Kuwait is undertaking a
turnaround at its Shuaiba polyethylene units beginning Jan. 20, according to a
source close. The company owns a
425,000-mt/year linear, low density, and 525,000-mt/year high density
polyethylene plant in Shuaiba. S&P
