Southeast Asia, Asian linear low density polyethylene prices were lower than
expected due to weak demand during Eid and Labour Day. LLDPE prices in the South
Asian region remained stable over the week, while metallocene LLDPE C6 prices
were lower due to slow markets despite supply constraints. Sources indicated that there was limited activity during Eid
holidays in Middle East. LLDPE prices
remained unchanged due to this. Observers
said that Asia's PE margins were lower than breakeven due to higher energy
costs. Uncertainty over restarts and
rising feedstock costs are causing mixed outlooks. Asia's net deficit is
expected to remain at 17-18 millionmt/year through 2022. Traders believe that demand should increase by the end the
