Due to tight supply, prices in Asian
Ethylene markets were higher on Aug. 30. The region's ethylene supply has been limited by the
extended operating rate cuts at crackers in Asia and upcoming turnarounds. Asia's buyers were still looking for September cargoes. Some
even stated that they wanted to purchase October cargo due to low
inventories. A trader in China stated that
"buying was very limited" due to downstream demand being terrible.
However, inventory levels are now low, and will affect operations if buyers
don't have enough ethylene. Although there
were few offers, buyers and traders continued to look for September and October
lots. The benchmark C+F Japan Naphtha
