LG Chem maintains lower run rates at ABS unit

LG Chem continues to run its Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) unit at curtailed capacity levels. A source in South Korea informed a team member, “The company has been operating the unit at around 80% of production capacity levels since the second half of February 2025. The reason for the reduced operating rates could not be ascertained, as no confirmation was obtained from an authorized representative.” Located in Yeosu, South Korea, the unit has a production capacity of 900,000 mt/year.
