March 2. Due to market uncertainty, some traders prefer to buy
locally on a hand-to mouth basis. Demand was weak. The ICE May Brent crude oil futures increased $10.61-15.25/b
on the day to $111.04-130.50/b at 4:30pm Singapore time (0830 GMT). Some traders stated that the outlook was not good as crude
oil prices and interest rates were expected to rise while consumption could be
curbed with inflation. Sources in
Southeast Asia said that prices rose due to tight supply and not demand. Purchasing activity has been limited by the sharp rises
