polyethylene were higher on the West Coast of South America, while they were
flat in Brazil and the Mercosur region. WCSA: Spot import prices for LDPE along the West Coast of
South America were at $1,110-1,150/mt. This is an increase of $30-35/mt. WCSA is still slow, but Brazil, Africa and Asia were very
active. We didn't see any dumping in
December and prices did not drop too much. There was not enough lost material to warrant dumping. A US trader stated that they are hopeful January will be at
least stable or on the rise. Shipments from
