Brazilian benzene rose in the week ending March 28 after following the lead of a rapidly evolving US Gulf Coast Market. Latin American benzene at $697/mt FOB Brazil, up $30 week over week. The price of the commodity rose the most in the past two months but remained below the $855/mt high for the year to date from February 7. According to feedback from the market, the assessment took into account USGC FOB prices for benzene and a formula to calculate freight costs of $100/mt over a period of three to thirty days. The Gulf Coast Benzene Prices began the week with a sharp decline, continuing from previous sessions.
