Latin American Benzene Prices: Tracking USGC Pricing Benzene prices in the US Gulf region increase by 17 cents / Asian prices down; South Korean exports fall

The price of Latin American benzene increased during the week ending May 16, due to higher US Gulf Coast prices. Latin American benzene was $702/mt, FOB Brazil, May 16, an increase of $54 over the previous week. This is in line with US Gulf Coast pricing which fell 17 cents/gal on the prior week. According to feedback from the market, prices were based upon prompt- and ahead-month US Gulf Coast assessments. A three-to-30-day netback formula was used to account for freight costs of $100/mt. NYMEX WTI front-month settled at $62.49/b and NYMEX RBOB at $2.1418/gal. Both were up from the previous week. Both settlements were made for June.
