AA/VAM - Asian Acetic Acid prices closed
the week ending February 16th down $10-15/mt while vinyl acetate monomer price
remained steady. According to trade sources, China's
domestic prices were Yuan 100/mt higher at Yuan 2,900-3.050/mt ex–tank February
16. This was due to slow downstream demand. Sources said
that export market offers were higher at $380-395/mt CFR, South Asia. This was
because a few Chinese producers of acetic acid have planned maintenances at
their plants for March. The large inventory of 210,000 mt in
Jingjiang Taizhou, Qinzhou, Tianjin and Qinzhou lent some selling pressure.
Discussions fell to $450-$460/mt CFR South Asia. Trade
