- June trading was
recorded at $1,330/mt- Benzene-styrene spread
continues to narrow

European
benzene prices rose on May 12, driven by US increases. On June trading,
$1,330/mt- $1350/mt was heard. During the
Market on Close assessment process, a bid for May was heard at $1300/mt-
$1350/mt. A trader stated that this was
due to the upward movement in the US. This is because of increased demand from
styrene production plants that were being restarted. Lower trading was heard for June loadings, and styrene
prices fell slightly downstream. Spread
between the two products continued its decline, falling to $535.50/mt-
$540.60/mt for the day May 12.
