Asian paraxylene slides $9.83-10.50/mt for
the day at $13,338-13,500/mt CFR Taiwan/China at $1,318-1,350/mt FOB Korea on June 14, continuing the downtrend since the
beginning of the week. In August, however,
ICE Brent crude oil futures rose $3.65-4.50/barrel at $123.6-140.50/barrel at
$123. After being booked by Samsung
C&T at $1323-1350/mt, GS Caltex raised its bid for Asia-origin August Lay
can and traded the second round at $1335-1350/mt to PetroChina. A bid for Asian-origin delivery in July was heard earlier at
+30/mt against July's Mean of CFR Taiwan/China. However, offers fell after
market close and were best heard at plus $31-37/mt based upon July DMOPT. Paraxylene's recent declines gave downstream PTA producers
some breathing room, with margins...
