- July 5-7: 50,000 barrels- Flat prices fall as gasoline prices plummet

On June 30, a trade was made for 50,000
barrels MTBE as the month came to an end. US Gulf Coast spot MTBE was 18.28 cents lower on June 30 at
444.63c/gal FOB USG. This is based on August RBOB trade plus 91c/gal outside of
the Market on the Close assessment process. This deal was the only one in the month. High prices
discouraged buyers and sources suggested that less expensive gasoline blends
with MTBE may be replacing US cargoes. At
91.00 cents per gall, the premium to August RBOB was slightly higher. NYMEX August RBOB was at 353.63 Cents/gal. This is a
decrease of 18.70 cents.
