US spot import polyethylene Terephthalate
prices fell $64-69/mt (three cents/lb) from week Dec. 14. This was based on
lower pricing indications of the mid-60 cents/lb region. Prices were assessed at $1.433-$1,455/mt (65-76
cents/lb DDP US West Coast). Since June, import PET prices fell
37% as container freight rates have risen from records in 2021/early 2022. The last
time freight rates were assessed from Northeast Asia to America's West Coast
was Dec. 13, at $1,350/FEU. This is an increase of $100/FEU over Dec. 7, and
rates from Northeast Asia towards the US East Coast were assessed Dec. 13, at
