Asian Iso MX: Prices increase over the week amid tight supply / Supply tightens as some reformers shut down PX price increases

Asian isomer MX decreased by $1/mt per day, but increased $7/mt in a week. It now costs $741/mt FOB Korea or $763/mt for CFR Taiwan. CFR China decreased $1/mt per day, but increased $15/mt to $759/mt. Chinese ex-tank assessment decreased Yuan 11,67/mt per day, but increased Yuan 128/mt per week to Yuan 6,438/mt. According to sources, the day's marginal drop in iso MX prices was due to a weaker demand for downstream Chinese polyester. On March 28, Asian paraxylene was up $2/mt from the previous day, to $849.33/mt CIF Taiwan/China. The MX price rose in the week ending March 28 as a result of tight supply caused by reformer shut downs.
