Asian Iso-MX: The spread of PX-MX reaches a 4-month high,
with MX falling $10-$14/mt in week- Term cargo negotiations
remain elusive- A domestic producer could
sell MX between January and FebruaryAsian paraxylene-isomer-grade mixed xylene
spread widened $14.34/mt week on week to $121.67/mt, the widest spread since
July 28, based on the CFR Taiwan/China price of PX and the FOB Korea price of
isomer-MX. This happened because isomer-MX
price dropped $14/mt week at $794/mt FOB Korea and dropped $10/mt to $830/mt
China Dec. 9. While PX rose 34c/mt on this week to $915.67/mt China/Taiwan. The market
participants are currently focusing on long-term contract negotiations.
However, there is no set price range. Some participants however have indicated
that contract volumes were being discussed more than the prices. The
end-year is a seasonal lull for both...
