Asian iso-MX: FOB Korean plunges $226-250/mt as
fundamentals change- After gasoline strength drops, focus returns to
PX and PTA.- PX falls $171.58-200.50/mt during the week that
aromatics fallAsian isomer-grade mixed xylenes fell $226-250/mt on the week at 919/mt FOB Korea, and down $187-200/mt on the week at 913/mt CFR Taiwan on
July 15. This was due to lower prices driven by bearish sentiments fueled in
part by a slumping crude oil and weakening gasoline margins combined with
tightening arbitrage to the US. Traders stated that fundamentals were
returning back to paraxylene's traditional focus as the main driver of prices,
and margins. The Asian benchmark price of PX fell from $171.58-200.50/mt to
$1,020-1,050/mt CFR Taiwan/China on July 15, with margins based upon feedstock MX
