Asian Iso MX: In line with downstream paraxylene / Market players will reduce inventories before the year ends / Sinopec reduces the isomer-MX cost by Yuan 150/mt

Dec. 17 saw an increase in Asian isomer-grade mixed xylene markets, in line with a stronger downstream paraxylene marketplace, despite a slight fall in crude futures. Isomer-MX was valued up $4/mt on the day at $726/mt FOB Korea and $750/mt Cf Taiwan Dec. 17. At 4:30pm Singapore time, the ICE February Brent crude futures contract closed at $74.43/b, compared to $74.57/b in the previous close. Despite the quiet market in the morning and afternoon, buyers showed interest through bids during the Market on Close process. The market heard a deal for the second-half of January loading cargo at $725/mt FOB Korea.
