Asian toluene prices were steady to firmer
in line with the higher naphtha and adjacent downstream paraxylene markets. Crude futures traded within a tight range on
Feb. 20, but fell on close. There weren't any transparent offers or bids
during the Market on Close assessment. A bid of
$835-850/mt FOB Korea was made early, but it was rejected. Sources said
that the current Chinese domestic prices are high and that there has been
no exports in March. Sources said that Southeast Asia buyers
were mostly ignored while the remaining spot avails headed to India were
being loaded. The China-origin cargoes available for trade were heard at
$930/mt FOB China from producers. However,
there were no firm offers. Sources said that toluene ex tank Kandla talks in
India were weaker at Rupees $83/kg on February...
