Dec. 14 saw an improvement in the Indian
methanol market, with domestic prices rising to Rupees 27.75-28.5/kg levels. India's domestic ex-tank Methanol prices have
risen by Rupees 1.75-2.28/kg since December 9, as a result of news about
limited Iranian supplies and tighter port inventory levels. The buyer
was confirmed by the buyer after a 500-mt tender was concluded at Rupees
27.50/kg December in Kandla port. According to market sources,
December-loading proposals from Iran were received at a premium between 2% and
3% over the formula price. Some of these offers were targeted to sell at a 4%

limited due to the shutdown of some Iranian plants, which was caused by a
