Spot MTBE prices for the US Gulf Coast
were lower than expected on June 29, at 462.91c/gal FOB USG. This is in line
with the drop in gasoline. Market
on Close did not see any activity and the premium to August RBOB remained
unchanged at 90.58c/gal. The US Energy
Information Administration data revealed that the levels of petroleum products
had rebounded after a delay of two weeks due to technical problems. Stockpiles of blending components, which stood at 204.5
million barrels, were 2.2% higher than last week but still 7% below the year. 95% refinery utilization was higher by 1 point over the week
than it was by 2.1 points for the year. The
