Thin trade activity was still evident in
the Asian market for benzene, but there were few conversations. On Jan. 10, the FOB Korea
benzene marker fell $7.67/mt, to $847/mt. The
February/March physical spread was offered at minus $4-5/mt before it was bid.
This resulted in the contango increasing to $6-7/mt. According to the latest customs data, India's November
aromatics exports decreased year-on-year for all products. Benzene exports decreased by 17.7% month-on-month to 81 875
mt in November. Indian Oil Corp. offers
6,000 mt of benzoene from Kandla for loading between Feb. 8-10. Tenders close Jan. 13 and have same-day validity. The company could not confirm any further details about the
