Asian toluene fell on July 18, as
sentiments remained bearish. Crude oil rose $4.46-5.50/b to $103.47-130.50/b.
This kept the wider aromatics complex stable and lower throughout the day. FOB Korea toluene dropped $19-25/mt to $940-970/mt,
while CFR China was stable. However, CFR China was supported by domestic
Chinese prices, hovering just above this level. CFR
China-FOB Korea spread strengthened further at $60-65/mt, on July 18. Sources
claim that the market remains quiet and muted, with few offers being made.
However, another source claims that the market recovered from the sharp drops
last week because crude oil is more expensive. Indian
buyers kept their buying intentions low in relation to slipping ex-tank talks,
so dollar-denominated conversations remained sparse. Ex-tank
