Increasing capacities dampened price uptick Demand is slower in India; China, Southeast Asia weaken further



The week ended April 12th
saw trade activity in Asian phenol markets and acetone markets slow to steady.
New capacities were mostly emerging, but there was also ongoing concern about
coronavirus outbreaks in the region. According to one source, India saw a
decrease in phenol demand. One source noted that Kandla's phenol inventory was
around 12,000 mt. This suggests that stockpiling efforts may have slowed down a
bit. Local sources also reported that
demand for downstream products like epoxy was stable. According to the first source, tradable indications ranged
from $1500-$1670/mt to a few sources, while the domestic market was still
