The Asian paraxylene CFR Taiwan/China and FOB Korea markers at $831.67/metric ton and $810.67/mt, respectively, on Nov. 14, both up $6/mt day over day. Sentiment for PX demand in 2026 remains firm amid expectations of tighter supplies, which could support higher prices. India’s demand for Chinese PTA is expected to increase following the withdrawal of the country’s quality control orders, which previously required mandatory certifications for imports of PTA and several other materials. The withdrawal of the mandate is expected to provide a boost to Chinese PTA producers, who have been struggling with weak domestic consumption, pressured margins, and excess capacity, according to an Indian PTA buyer.
