demand is a problem

Due to slow end-use demand, CFR discussions
were sluggish amid cautious methanol purchases from Asia on Nov. 10. India's formaldehyde producer was operating
their unit at 65%. An Indian importer stated that there was ample
inventory at ports up to the first half of December. Sources
said that Methanol annual term contract negotiations were not extensive and
would mostly begin in December once the market stabilizes. Domestic ex-tank
talks in India improved slightly in early trading on Nov.10, with offers of Rupee
24.75 to Rupee 25/kg. Trader statements indicated that import spot
cargo negotiations were sluggish and that demand is strong.
