Increased supply with new units beginning early April / South Asia's demand slows

The price of Asian acrylonitrile was sharply lower on April 29. Buy-sell discussions were lower than the previous week due to increased supplies. CFR Far East Asia as well CFR Southeast Asia were both $90/mt lower at $1150/mt. This was in line with the tradable discussion of $1,130-1,170/mt on both markets. Prices in China East fell another Yuan 350/mt, to Yuan 8200/mt. This is a drop of Yuan 350/mt compared to a week earlier when they were Yuan 8,550/mt. Last heard selling indications on CFR India were $1,140/mt. There were no reported trades. Sources reported that China's weekly operating rate for acrylonitrile was 74% on April 24 compared to 79% in April 17. A source from Yulong Petrochemical confirmed that the 130,000 mt/yr ACN plant at its Yantai Shandong facility...
