Sources said that the European demand for
naphtha has increased, despite the fact that margins are still poor. The fall in natural gas
prices reflected a rise in petrochemical cracking rates. One source stated that "Petrochemical demand is higher
mainly because TTF collapsed so economics are better, but margins remain
bad." Front-month Dutch TTF futures
were at Eur48.72/MWh in February 21, down from Eur148.25/MWh Dec. 7. Cracker margins are still not recovering. The NWE Cracker Margin Spot was at minus $76.2-81.5/mt as of

flaring took place at the Scholven site at BP's Gelsenkirchen 240,000 b/d
refinery in Germany late February 19 and again on Feb. 20, due to a technical
