The demand for oxo-alcohol in Europe improved over the
week to May 12. Market participants indicated a more balanced outlook.
N-butanol spot price at Eur2,150/mt-Eur2,175/mt. FD Northwest Europe. Prices
dropped Eur50/mt to the highest point of an indicative range between Eur2,100-2,200/mt
from a producer. The drop in domestic prices partially reflected a $50-60/mt
decrease in export prices at $1,800/mt-$1,850/mt FOB Rotterdam. Isobutanol prices were stable at Eur1,600/mt- Eur1,655/mt
FOB Rotterdam, consistent with producers' indications of prices at that level.
This is in keeping with the increased market demand for I-butanol. The export prices were also unchanged at $1230/mt- $1275/mt
FOB Rotterdam. This is similar to the stability in domestic markets. The 2-EH market saw prices fall. Domestic prices were valued at Eur2,200/mt-Eur2,250/mt
