Naphtha stocks in the
Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp trading hub rose 16,000mt, or 5.5%, to 307,000 mt
in the week to Jan. 5 amid strong imports from Russiaa head of February's new
sanctions and low demand in Europe. Strength on the supply side came amid weak
demand for naphtha in Europe, especially as petrochemical crackers were keeping
to low operating rates of around 70%, according to sources. The forecast of
Russian exports to Northwest Europe in the week beginning Jan. 2 was for 119,000mt and
was on track to match the previous week's strong performance of 170,000mt.
According to Kpler shipping data, the front-month CIF NWE Naphtha Swap was up
$5.50/mt at $615.25/mt. The
