Due to muted trading activity, the
propylene market in China remained unchanged on Nov. 17. The ICE January Brent crude oils futures
contract fell $1.17/b to $92.75/b, after the Asian close. This was at 0830 GMT. Buyers waited
for a clearer price direction before making offers and bidding was scarce. The spread in
price between propylene and polypropylene was $40-45/mt Nov. 17, which is well
below the $150-165/mt breakeven spread. China's
Jiangsu Sailboat Petrochemical raised the run rate of its 700,000 mt/year
propylene dehydrogenation plant in Lianyungang from 80% to 90% in October. A company
source stated that the company started increasing the run rate for its PDH to
