Oct. 18, as Chinese buyers showed little interest in imports despite a growing
and cheaper spot supply. Buyers
waited to see whether the 20th Communist Party Congress of China would provide
relief for the battered butadiene industry. Yuan7,350- Yuan7,430/mtexc-tank domestic prices, which was
Yuan 100-Yuan 150/mt lower than the previous day. A Chinese player stated that he does not believe the price
will recover for October. He noted that Asian butadiene will likely remain
under pressure due to ample inventories. Others
were optimistic that the butadiene market could recover after additional
