In the European polystyrene marketplace,
demand declined in the week ending June 29, while spots saw pockets of higher
pricing. According to a trader, HIPS trading
was recorded at Eur2,450-2,480/mt by a European producer. Higher levels were
also seen in other trading houses throughout the week. A converter
stated that there were no problems with material availability. He said that
the market isn't as tight as you might think so it's a good idea to ask for
everything you can get. Logistics was the main problem, as
there were few trucks available on the continent. According to
