The US ethylene spot market
prices began the week in an upward trend for EPC and Choctaw starting on July
11. Sources are considering whether flaring at Enterprise's Mont Belvieu
complex might have led to higher pricing expectations. July Mont
Belvieu ethylene was valued at 23.5c/lb FD Mont Belvieu on July 11, an increase
of 0.75cs. Sources also suggested that a July ethylene trade at 23.5c/lb MtB
pipe, which was reported twice during the day, could have triggered higher
pricing expectations. The bid/offer range
was also 22-24.25 Cents/lb MtB/pipe. Forward-month
August Mont Belvieu Ethylene was valued at 23.25 Cents/lb Fd Mont Belvieu. This
