fall by 4% to 5% due to economic concerns





Due to a drop in upstream energy futures,
US Gulf Coast spot prices of nitration grade toluene were sharply lower on Jan.
3. During the Market on Close
assessment, January NGT was offered at 300-355 cents/gal DDP HTC. However,
higher indications were received at 350-375 cents/gal FOB ITC Deer Park. January MX
was offered/bought at 340-371 cents/gal FOB ITC Deer Park. This was also after
Dec. 30, flat. The reason for the drastically lower prices was
not clear as many market participants were still absent during the holidays. One market
participant blamed the falling energy prices for the losses. Crude oil
and gasoline futures dropped by between 4% and 5% during the session...
