OPEC+ has pledged to make up for the production cuts that are currently taking place by reducing overproduction by 2026. Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, in February 2022, the coalition has reduced oil production by 4,57 million barrels per daily (bpd). This reduction is being done in stages. The OPEC+ cartel has confirmed that Saudi Arabia, Russia and Iraq as well as the United Arab Emirates Kuwait, Kazakhstan Algeria and Oman have all submitted compensation plans to their office. Since the first OPEC+ deal in 2016, the coalition, along with its non-OPEC partners, have been struggling to reduce production due to overproduction.
