AA: East China's domestic
prices plunged to Yuan 600-700/mt (or $90-95/mt) on the week as China's
COVID-19 policy of 'zero tolerance' curbed local demand. According to some reports, the AA stock in east China has
risen to between 200,000 and 230,000 mt, despite some turnarounds at acetic
acid factories. India was China's largest
export market for AA. However, there was little buying interest due to the
ullage in an acetic tank in Kandla and Mumbai. Sources say that these ports had a combined AA inventory of
around 70,000 mt. Although arbitrage was possible
between India and Europe, sources claimed that freight was very expensive at
