Southeast Asia, high-density Polyethylene prices dropped in the week ending
April 27, due to weak Ramadan demand. Due to low domestic demand
and high inventories, traders in China exported both domestic and imported
material to Southeast Asia and South Asia. Due to high crude production costs, some sellers held out
for higher prices and expected demand to recover after movement restrictions
ease. Sellers stated that the region is
currently oversupplied and that production is slowing down. Due to low demand and high crude prices, PE prices have been
in a range for the past two months. Sources
