high density polyethylene prices strengthened slightly on higher discussions in
the week to Jan. 25. Some tight supply was heard due to some plant turnarounds
in the Middle East. The ICE March Brent crude oil futures contract dipped 34
cents/b on the day to $86.17/b at 4:30 pm Singapore time (0830 GMT) Jan. 25. In
plant news, Saudi Arabia’s Sharq, or Eastern Petrochemical Company, has kept
its 400,000 mt/year linear low density polyethylene line shut due to an outage
at Al Jubail since Jan. 5, a company source said. It is one of the three LLDPE
