high-density polyethylene prices rose in the week ending Jan. 18. However, demand was low prior to Lunar New Years. Sources said
that the lack of feedstock makes recycling more difficult. Sources
claimed that domestic waste produced too few good plastics. They also suggested
that the public needs to be educated on how to sort and collect waste so that
they can be recycled more effectively. Many
recyclers claimed that they are running at a lower capacity than the advertised
capacity because of low feedstock yield. Many
countries banned imports of feedstock bales because they are considered to be
